There are so many fuckin candidates, anyone know who they're voting for yet?
SkimNate

Not Hillary, Edwards, Romney, Or Ron Paul.
SkimNate
12-31-2007, 09:53 AM
and not Giulani for that matter.
i'm less concerned with specific political issues than mental clarity, ability to articulate well, leadership, and candor at this point. i mean, that should be the absolute minimum we expect from a president, yet the field is always filled with a bunch of players who don't qualify. people who rely mostly on voting for a few points on a political rubric run the risk of getting someone who believes those things but still has absolutely no business being president.
even tho i can't vote i would x out hillary. edwards. mccain. o'bama. and paul
obama just because his middle name is hussein and im gop all the way
edit: i hope mccain isnt either because before every speech he would have to remind us that he was in vietnam and he was a pow. gets old
It would be the best thing ever if the reason you couldn't vote was because you were a felon.

Albuquerque is my home town and he has always represented NM well.
He has been a Representative, a U.S. Ambassador, and Governor.
He gets my vote.

Hell yeah!
People here are not smart enough to realize that he has screwed up at every turn.
They think that just because he is from TexAss and so are they, that he is the best thing to happen since sex was invented.

I like how Obama is the only one to admit he has tried drugs. It makes me want to trust him more than the others. Of course he has two things against him, his name and the color of his skin. When I see Obama I don't see a black person, a democrat or terrorists. I think this time around I want someone honest. Not someone who says he tried pot, but didn't inhale. Remember, politicians promise you everything but give you nothing. I'm still undecided, but so far I like Obama. But who knows? I may vote for a Republican in the end.

Hontesly for me its scary to think that Obama could be President. Not because he's black. Not because of the way his name rhymes with the FBI's most wanted. and Not because he can blaze that shit up. But because I AM AFRAID OF "OPRAH WINFREY"! She's investing all her money into his campaign in hopes that when he becomes EL President'A she will be repaid with a very powerful friend, who can pretty much make Harp'O look like a hotdog stand. I'm talkin about the MONEY. Although I got to respect her businesswoman Skillz. She surely knows how to deversify! But whatever...I attribute what I know frum watchin MAD TV....So I might be a lil Wacked

Do you mean that his middle name is the same as the last name of a dead dictator?
I'm sure Oprah is definitely a risk to this nations security and place in the world. We can only hope that others wake up and realize this.

to me, obama just doesnt carry himself like he should, if he wants to be the most influential man in the world.
imo, fred thompson carries himelf more powerfully, he can commandyour attention, but he is a little too conservative.

I can see this thread turning into a big fight. So I think people should say what they like and dislike about the candidates. Now that would help people decide better. I know it would help me. Not by fighting.=(
to me, obama just doesnt carry himself like he should, if he wants to be the most influential man in the world.i guess i see what you mean, but not completely. i think obama would be fine as a statesman and diplomat in terms of presence and character. its a give and take. you can play the stoic prez cliche role, but taken too far you lose a sense of candidness.

Bill Richardson's credentials speak for themselves.
His experience outweighs any other candidate.
As a Representative, he became very familiar with the inner-workings of the House, and to a lesser extent, the Senate... but definately understands how Congress works.
As a U.S. Ambassador, he became familiar with most of the foriegn dignitaries that are out there, knows and understands how to get things done with others that don't exactly have the same views as America.
And as Governor, he knows how to be President... because after all, a Governor is really just a President of a State.
He is also not Way Left... like a lot of the other Democrats, his views really resemble an Independant more than the others.
Do some research, you might find that he has always served the PEOPLE, instead of the Special Intrests and the Lobbiests.

i havent really been paying that much attention. ill start watching and listening more as it gets closer to the election and narrowed down to 2 or 4 candidates. i had heard some of paul's ideas, and they seemed ok. then, i watched an interview with him and he is a babbling idiot. if i heard him contradict himself again, i was gonna puke. his speech giving ability would be sub-bush, and, although that doesnt really factor into me thinking he would be a good pres or not, it would get pretty annoying considering how much people make fun of bush for that kind of thing now.

it was late at night, i cant remember what ch. it was on or anything. if i see it again, ill look it up. im not saying he made up words mid sentence like bush does, but he didnt really make sense a lot of the time when he was defending where he went back on his word from years or even weeks ago. he used technicalities like "i said i could; not i would" far too much IMO

Logan I say this because of this...
Paul published a book like all the candidates have...
His book was not something that was advised by political advisers like most of all the other books where. (I have read about half of the books out there...even Dennis K)
Ron Paul's book was this: Speeches made while in the House over the years. The speeches were taken right out of the records. The guy is not the most elegant (levels above Bush) but he has clear points which he does not have to read. (Bush reading what Rove would write) As a candidate I want a guy that comes off intellectual to the world community and Paul can do that. But besides an actor which in essence it sounds what you want...I want a guy that I can view his record and see he is a stable and clear thinking.

I really like Obama. I read both of his books and he seems like a pretty honest candidate with good intentions. He also doesn't take ANY PAC money. I think Paul and Kucinich are both very intelligent but would not make good leaders.

Ron Paul is the ONLY Presidential candidate who hasn't Flip-Floped Political issues based on campagne strategy. Take a look at his Congressional voting record, and then take a look at some of the other candidates. Washington is run by Lobbyists and Special Interest Groups anymore. People should be more worried about weather their candidate will uphold this Countries, Founding, Governing, document (The Constiution) The One Paper that gave each one of us All the freedoms We have right now. Than such superficial issues as How likeable a candidate seems. I am not just Voting for Ron Paul, I am Voting for the IDEALS that he Campaigns for.

If someone uses the phrase "flip flop" or calls someone "flip flopper" or any other such variation, you can disregard pretty much everything they have to say.

Right on. Attention slow adults in Iowa: if God wants to run the country he can come down and do it himself. Otherwise, lets continue to let humans run the country.
