I cant believe that they would hold the contest there when they are allowed to move anywhere from Nokomis to North and they made you guys skim in those conditions with sea weed. Shit sucks. And Brett it is the Lake of Mexico. Fucking place sucks

Not for the fact of it being any better anywhere else, but there would have been alot less seaweed at Nokomis. You should have seen the pile of seaweed that was there about a month ago you could have walked off a 3 story building into the seaweed thats how high its was

i did suggest moving it down...they said that after the 2nd boardwalk that it became private beach access. and the waves were def. not better down the beach...but at least there was a beach to run on...and to make it worse, the tide was rising all day so the water just got deeper and deeper...
but i love the contest and skimming so i will be back next year

i know what the seaweed amount has been and its pissing me off u can ride there anymore, but there werent even waves at nokomis it was completely flat. I rode down from the the contest to noko real fast to check it out and i almost cried because it was so flat. but everybody did good with what they had, except for abner because hes mexican and gets nervous like a women.

what about that last picture looking north, looks like there was alot less seaweed 20 or 30 yards north,
vice versa if the picture is lookin south

hah for every pros sake thankfully they didnt have a division..it was such a waste of time, literally a flatland contest would have been better, there wasnt even a beach to run on..i cannot wait to compete in waves again

They never had a pro division in this contest. I think its more of a way to make money for them instead of puting back into the sport. I have been thinking about it pretty hard about throwing my own contest down here. Probably at Sharkys like the old school contests, but I want to make it fun for everyone. So I was thnking about building a mini ramp on the beach and having a contest for skateboarding also. Sharkys has always been a great place to have a contest. They have a sick outside patio/tiki bar for parents and everyone to chill at. And just a great all aroun place. We will see.

Here is a little history for ya--I was at the first Windflight contest back in the mid-80's and I got second place. A guy named Craig Zier beat me by doing a headstand! He was on a Zap, of course. I was killing wraps and liners and got beat by a headstand--lame. The waves were sweet but it was super cold.
Sorry, I still have these flashbacks from Viet-Contest!

Getting beat by a headstand ha thats kinda lame. It sucks so bad that the conditions are horrible this summer it got really good then just started sucking. Eh north hasnt been the same in a while when it used to break closer to the jetty it was awesome.
