Ok I finally have enough money to buy a new board, but still haven't finalized what I'm going to get. I will be ordering it soon. Probably tomorrow, but maybe a little later, definitely will want to have it by the time I get out of school so I can use it right away. Anyway I am pretty sure its going to be a Victoria or a Sol but am slightly considring a Slotstik, Exile, or Zap. Right now I weigh 170 lbs due to breaking my wrist this past winter, not being able to ski or do anything but stay at home, but I go down to 150lbs by the end of soccer maybe even 140lbs. I am 5'9 or 5'10 and 17. I want a good board, easy compared to my current Large Zap Wedge, that will perform on waves in terms of float, speed, manuverability, weight, durability, rocker, shape, flex, etc.

Sorry if this is really annoying, I'm probably over analyzing, but it is a lot of money and I really want to be happy with the board I purchase. If you don't want to respond/vote that's fine I understand. I'm pretty sure of what i'm going to buy, Victoria or Sol. I just wanted to make sure I'm making the right choice.

Thanks.

To tell you the truth, of all the boards up there, it doesnt matter which one you get. All of the boards are great, if they weren't great then the manufacturer's wouldn't be spening/making money with them. Any board is fun, you just to give it a good long time to get used to sometimes. I"ve had an e=glass slotstick provac since the end of last summer and im just now starting to really really like it.

And be sure to feed your skimboards lots of vegetables and protein so they stay strong and happy. If you give it just junk food the color will fade and it will go slower. I'm a doctor i know these things.

I just got a Exile, and I'm extremely happy with it. I've had a Zap, and a Slotty before and I like my Ex a lot more. It might be because I'm better now, but it just seems so much more responsive and faster then my previous boards. I've never really rode a Vic much, and the Sols I rode were okay but I cant remember much about them because it was so long ago.

I hear people who get a Sol and especially Victorias order down a size than the weight recommendations any thoughts on this?

i voted Sol Carb, think you can'r go wrong with that, exiles are great boards, but i'm not very confident with "normal" e-glass i guess people will flame on me for saying it , but at least get an S glass, they seem to be better than an e-glass in my opinion.

Well yeah they are better, but Id go with what I could get. If you look on Skim Central though, you will see its not too much more for an S Glass than an E Glass, thats what I just ordered is an S Glass. Also because they didnt have any Carbons my size.

I'm not going over $350 so I was basically cosidering this one exile. All the rest are over that price even most E Glass never mind S Glass or Carbon, or are 5/8".

Skimcentral does have good prices on E Glass and S Glass but have virtually nothing in inventory right now. I was thinking Sol becausethey have very good prices even on Carbon and have good float. Victorias seem excellent as well. Zap and Slotstik seem just OK. Zap E Glass seem to be a little worse than the competition, the Slotstik Pro Vac is only 5/8 now that I look at it, and the Slotstik Slot Vac seems not on par with the other boards. So I think I've narrowed it down to any of the three Sols, the 2 Victorias, or this one Exile. http://www.skimshop.com/Eglass_Hybrid__ML-p-18155.html

Can we also depict what car you will drive? How about you let us choose which cereal you should eat in the morning?
It's okay to get help from others, especially cause a lot of people can be trusted on here etc. However, it's better off talking to only a few people who really know more than average about boards, then you'll probably get a better answer, just my advice...

If you know what's best, you'll order an S-Glass directly from Exile.

^^^ that's so ridiculous. Not everybody likes that board. And if more people liek it then not like it, it stills poses the chance that this particular person might not like it. and things like this have been said a million times. I might as well stop, but just some advice you should take.

Thanks for all your help guys. I went with my intuition/first choice and the second place of my poll and now am the proud owner of a Medium Large Victoria Poly Vac. Or at least in a few days I will, as I am paying via money order and think I got UPS standard ground delivery, so it will take a few days, hopefully not any more than 14. Not that it really matters since the water has ben 48-52 degrees fahrenheit and I have no wetsuit. I'll have it by summer/ when school gets out and when the water starts to warm up. The day I get out lines up perfectly high tide at 3:00 pm EST. Can't wait to get it. I'm so happy right now. I can't wait to use it for the first time. Will be way better than my Large Zap Wedge in every category.
