Would you guys recommend using a Sol skimboard? Why or why not?

Sure, by now everyone knows that Sol isnt a piece of crap company and that their boards do last more than a week like Wal- Mart brand boards and Ive even heard people refering to their Pins like they were Zap Pros. So they must be doing quite alright as a company since theyve gained some recognition from the skim community.

Ive been skimming sols for a few years

I would recomend the textillium or carbon over the pins

Pins are good to learn on, but better performance comes with the higher quality materials, in my opinion at least

sure you could wrap a wave on a wooden board, at least if you are Beaker

They're a little thick, 7/8", that might cost you some maneuverability, but they must float like crazy. Supposedly they taper the rails to compensate.

They're nice but seem a little hefty to me so I'd probably go a size down when making a decision.

They float like crazy and turn pretty well too, but I've found that whenever I use mine 1 time out of 5 in wrapping it cuts too deep in the wrap and sinks.

they arnt just 7/8, they are tapered rails so u still have alot of "manuverability"

I agree, they run large

If you usually get a medium board, then get a small Sol

I have some weird prototype board with the checkered carbon, and its thinner, so I using my board would probably not compare to a board from SkimShop.com

A lot of Sols have been showing up here on the gulf coast of florida deff gaining some steam. They are alright i dont like the thickness slows the turn down a bit for me on the one i have ridden. But deff a good board

Well thats good I guess that theyre spreading to Florida, I havent seen any over here on the East Coast yet, mostly everyone's running a Slot, Exile, Zap, or Syndrome.

Sols sell through SkimShop.com, and a few surf shops...thats it

so I think there are some decent ammount of Sols in the North East, (Ma, NJ, Dewey)

And then gulf coast like naples - sarasota

they're also a lot cheaper than other boards of similar specifications

i have the same problem as skimnczach. you cant really lean into wraps that much or it happens more often. truth be told, i wont be getting another one but im still happy with it.

sure why not youre not the first to ask. that pic is really deceiving cause im really not that cut, but with the angle and the fact that i got really tanned (check out the difference) is what makes me look soo sexy
