sony video cameras, nikon still cameras, for the win

i come from a professional photographic background

but i hear canon is nice too...

toshiba laptop, one of the cheaper ones. would I have to upgrade to something better

hmmm i have a mac so i don't really know about video editing software for Pc's but you probably wouldn't have to upgrade

look around on canon's website and sony's too. They have good camera's with prices that are not too bad but you can always look for the camera on ebay or something like that to find it cheaper

get a nice 3CCD mini-dv, like the sony hdr fx-1, if you are looking for something really good

or find something you like and can afford; here -

i use the fx-1 for my job :) its fun, but i have never gotten to use it to film skimming yet
