(Fog Hat) saw them in SF. I would like to see them again because I don't remember too much about that day. I drove a bunch of my friends up in my VW bus, and the only thing I remember about the trip and concert was "lots of smoke''....
The other day, I bought their CD of the concert I couldn't remember.=)

How about Zeppelin in their prime?

rick.MIAskim
10-17-2007, 09:22 AM
zepelin is actually reforming for a show in london soon. i believe the drummer died (his son is replacing him) but it should still be a solid show.

Thrillhouse

I heard about that. Did you hear how much tickets were going for?

rick.MIAskim
10-17-2007, 09:46 AM
around $250ish was the price i was told.. but you had to sign up to a mailing list and get selected to be able to buy them due to the high demand. i could imagine what one of those tickets could go for on ebay :P

yeah, I came in a little late, only got 20 shows but my first was a classic (8/9/98 va beach) and I caught what they consider their best concert ever, the Big Cypress millenium concert, so I got lucky there. Missed out on 97 (amazing) and all but one show from their epic 98 summer tour.

t. monk's band when he was playing with coltrane, miles davis, art blakey, and coleman hawkins

Nice, interesting pick.

One our good friends - he's about 53 - spent a lot of time over in the UK, and specifically in London at Ronnie Scott's. He knew the Scott's personally and met all the jazz greats there - he has some +amazing+ "bootleg" recordings. His brother cut a couple of CD's (Jazz/Sax) using some production folks that worked with them as well.

When we go to NYC with him and his wife we usually hit up a good Jazz club - last time we were there together we went to the Blue Note and got to see Max Roach at one of his last performences before he got very ill and passed away - Delfeayo Marsalis was there too, totally off bill, so it was an extra incredible show.

Jim Gordon
10-18-2007, 12:56 PM
We couldn't get into where Jimi and The Who were playing. But if my memory is right, we were told The Who broke their guitars on stage, so Jimi didn't want to be out done so he lit his guitar on fire.=) There were so many people there we heard the police were told not to arrest anyone. Everyone was smoking pot or taking acid. And I didn't see anyone get arrested. By the time we got there it was sold out, and no one could get in. On our way back to our car we saw people jumping over a 8' wire fence. When we got ready to climb the fence a police car pulled up and told a girl to get off the fence, so she jumped down on the inside. When the police didn't say anything and just drove off, we said farout and jumped the fence and that is how we got in. I know what your thinking he told the story backwards, that's the way things were happing there......"Yeah I was there mannn" Oh I forgot to tell you where....Monterey Pop Festival. I really f#cked up this story, I guess I left half my brain there=(

Grateful Dead in New York 1980

Rage Against the Machine Vs The Democratic Convention

The Who Concert where Moon passed out on Animal Traquilizers and they had to get a guy from the crowd to play.
