3,000 isn't that much. When I was growing up, my friend did triathlons and road raced with his dad and brother. They had 5,000 dollar and 7,000 dollar bikes.

i saw one in a magazine the other day for 15,000...im sure they go much higher, but that doesn't change the fact that 3000 for a bike is crazy. Not saying it's a waste of money...it's just crazy.

My bike was 700 and thats about my limit.

I found the P2C frame with what *appears* to be the same forks, seatpost, saddle and head for $2K. I'd assume the wheels, cranks, gears all that jive at as much - $5K? I know I've seen some super exotic bikes for closer to $10K, but usually those are some kind of custom one offs.

My reference: http://www.racycles.com/trif/catalog/cervelo_p2c_4827365.htm

What do you do with a $3000 bike? I wouldn't even want to ride it.

Damn, dude.

Those bikes are so light it is unbelievable. You can pick them up with a finger.

freakin nice dzan. Is it all carbon fiber?

Yeah all carbon. Super light.

every piece looks like a wing.

Its the second most aero-dynamic bike you can buy.

Nah, much less. The wheels are pretty low end for the bike, which isnt bad just not race worthy, fine for training. Once I get to the point where I'm competitive in a race and I feel it would make a difference I will buy a pair of real race wheels like Zipp 404.

as much as im into cycling, imo you don't need a 3000$ time trial bike unless all you were going for was weight. although that is a real nice bike, is it necessary?

If you are serious about time trialling, yes.

I'm thinking some full carbon fiber transportation more along these lines:

i bet once you got it and rode it for a while , you would say it was worth it . but looking through the eyes of a person who dosn't have it , i wouldn't go for it.

The Pagani Zonda is Sexy Ugly (a term we usually apply to people) - it's so ridiculous and over the top, but so uncompromisingly beautiful.

They're actually Merc/AMG powered!

Individually right now, but I'd like to have a few races under my belt before I consider trying to join a team.

who ever is driving that better hope that the arodynamics are accurate becasue somthing that light going fast cant be good if too much air goes under it.

btw I think it would look better without the spoiler, but that prob helps keep it from taking off.

can you take it off of any sick jumps? (Napolean voice)

CaboWabo

The Zonda is pure breed race car...everything you see is function. Calling it a rice rocket is far from truth, although it is fuck ugly.

although it is fuck ugly.

I agree - I can get past the exotic nature and sort of deal with JUST the design. I'm not a fan of Lambo either (well, the direction of their modern styling) - same thing, just over the top, fractured design. One of the most hideous vehicles on the planet is the Veyron.

I really like most Ferrari designs (absolutely the classics and even modern stuff like the F430) - and if I were considering something extremely exotic, the Porsche CGT is stunning.

CaboWabo

Ferrari and Porsche make beautiful cars. The 360 Modena and F430 are just straight sexy along w/ the F355, 550 Maranello ect.

The Enzo though kinda falls in w/ Lambo, Zonda, Veyron...they're beasts, but ugly. I do like the Gallardo though, it's toned down a bit.

Still my favorites are the Aston Martins

ah yes...
