Im going to be attending college in connecticut(i leave on sept 2nd)
and was wondering if there were any waves or skim there at all, basically to see if there was a point to me bringing my board. So if any1 has been there or lives there and could tell me how it is, thatd be great.

No waves in CT, and skimming isn't allowed at some beaches, but there are some sandbars that are fun. May aswell bring your board, could make trips to long island or something for skim.

East Beach is literally just over the CT/RI border, which is quite good.

I'm from CT, where are you going to school?

I skim at east beach which is a little over an hour from my place in new haven. Bring your board, you never know. like mentioned above, there are no waves, but sand bars, so there is always inland skimming.

Jones beach long island is also just over an hour from me.

yeah jones beach is alright but its mega crowded, and its no much more then taking the ferry from bridgeport then take william floyd parkway all the way down, it'll bring you to smithspoint, im always there skimming although the ferry might become expensive

its usually not that bad, today was alright, took awhile to find some decent waves, yesterday was actually really good, i never really hang out that far west but i try to get to a few shows when some good bands are playing

im going to Sacred Heart University, and im from Long Island so i skim at Tobay Beach(same beach as Jones Beach but its private which means its a lot less crowded)

most places are skimmable during a storm or high winds. Choppy though, but rideable. The best sess I had all summer was at my local beach during an off shore storm. Fall is the best, cold, but a spring suit or 2mm top will cut it.
