BOSTON, July 30 (AP)-- Kevin Garnett is leaving Minnesota after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the All-Star forward in a multiplayer trade with the Timberwolves, a Celtics official told The Associated Press on Monday.

too bad Garnett is a bitch and says he would opt out next year if he got traded to them. He is dumb, he could be a legend if he sticks with Boston and leads them to the playoffs, I mean him and Pierce are more than enough to get a playoff spot in the East

im no basketball expert but even with KG, Pierce and Allen they will still have a hard time making the playoffs in the east. The Pistons are in it ever year. Cleveland looks better then ever. Orlando had a good season last year and made the playoffs. Shaq probably has another good year in him. And the Wizards are going to be contenders again.

junwin
07-30-2007, 08:07 PM
youve only named 5 teams in the east that you think would be better....

there are 8 spots. but yeah, if KG doesnt actually want to be a Boston ballplayer, then they wont go anywhere

VaSkimer18
07-30-2007, 08:11 PM
well to make my point let me name more...

The Nets and Raptors had good season's last year including playoff runs for both teams, they will be contenders again this season. And last but not least the Bulls. Sheed and Gordon are going to take them back to the playoffs.

RavesIsBack
07-30-2007, 08:11 PM
they'll make the playoffs, but thats about it

with KG they would be better than the Nets, the Magic, the Wizards

Bulls, Cavs, Pistons, Heat, Raptors are better

except for the fact that they looked better in 05-06...

The east fucking sucks right now. I like Garnett, and I like their chances. He had a worse squad than this with Sprewell and Cassell and they had a GREAT season (04 maybe?). Who knows. I do think he's better off than sticking w/ the wolves.

The Celtics should finish in the top 3 in the east next year, they wont be in the finals, but they will be a decent ball team.

Ray Allen-BALLER
Pierce-Never hada big man as center to pass down low to.
Garnett-New Big man in town to change the Boston organization as we know it!

I am a fan of 2 NBA teams Heat and Celtics being from Boston they havent been a good team since Larry left.

are you kidding? Any team with iverson has the potential to be a threat. Then you factor in who would have been the scoring champ last season, the defensive player of the year, and the newest Head Nigger In Charge fvcking Nene. I was the biggest Nene hater before but this guy has got steez, AND he's a monster on top of that. Big man w/ finesse, hard to come by. They will be monsters this year. Not to mention if Iverson played for an age 14-16 rec team I'd be repping them till the end. Last season was doomed, but this season will POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

they are coming off their best season ever, even though they blew it in the championship. Im pretty sure no one from last years team is leaving and Mike Brown now has an even better idea of what he is doing in the playoffs.

Im not saying they are going to do the same thing as last year, but they will make the playoffs

ZapBulletRider
07-31-2007, 09:21 AM
I disagree, the East was stronger in 05-06 and the Cavs were playing more cohesively, at least in the playoffs. LeBron seemed to be playing with more fire as well. IDK, this season started off well but they fell off quickly.

Pierce- still doesnt have a big man as center. Garnett does not play center, in fact Al Jefferson was the best center he had and is going to be a stud, but they traded him for KG
Ray Allen - Baller...when not injured, and old
Garnett- OVER-RATED, chi chi chi chi chi, OVER-RATED.

They will be good in the East, mainly because the East sucks, not because they are that good

KG is DEFINITELY not overrated. He is a fucking beast. Did you watch his MVP season? And even since then he's still continually one of the top 5 most efficient players in the leage. Without even looking I'm betting if you checked the efficiency rating on NBA.com he's top 5 from the last 4 seasons.

edit: well I don't know how to check the previous 3 but for last season he was #1

TRUE KG is a great player but while in Minnasota he had little talent around him, now he has some ballers to make his game that much better. The Celtics should be contenders...!!!

celts only have like 8 players at the moment, need a minimum of 12

gonna be some shoddy FAs or D League call ups getting some time, at the moment they have got it made at every starting position.....except C and PG....whihc are kind of important

KG is not a top 5 player in the league, where he is considered, so hence overrated. He is overrated, and I have said it for a long time. Doesnt make him a bad player, Lebron is overrated in my opinion, but it also means he is not that great.

He has 0 rings, 0 championship appearances, 1 MVP. If i were building a team and in fact any intelligent basketball analyst would not put him on their team. The guy is a big stick figure that has pretty numbers but really does not dominate the game. Tim Duncan DOMINATES the game, KG just gets the numbers.

The Celtics couldn't exactly get Tim Duncan. And who did Kevin Garnett have in Minnesota? Ricky Davis? Michael Olawakandi? Wally? Some all-start team he had around him over the years. It takes more then 1 to get to the Western Conference finals yeah KG managed to do it once. I'm sure he can do something with Paul "I'm fucking amazing" Pierce and Ray "I drop bucketss all day" Allen.

and? He does NOT dominate the game. He gets his points, he gets his boards true and is a great player, but he is not a dominate player. I want dominate players on my team. for example, Melo is a great scorer, Lebron is a great all around player, Dwade is a dominate player

that excuse has been around for so long, but i agree with skip bayless, if Tim Duncan were on the T-wolves and the Spurs had KG, the Spurs would have 0 rings and the T-wolves would be a perennial force

I don't care. I enjoy basketball for speed, finesse, passion. Duncan has none of the first, very little of the second, and barely shows the third. That's why for better or for worse, Allen Iverson is by far my favorite player in the NBA.

yeah I respect the hell out of Arenas. He's prob. one of my top 5, and at times he's #2. Like when he was scoring 50 and shit this season. Did you ever see the youtube vid where he beat DeShawn Stevenson in a 3pt shootout using only one hand? Youtube it up.

iverson is probably my least favorite and has been. all he does is play for money so he can buy drugs, hes a good player but his best years a by far behind him. and im a sixers fan and hes going way downhill. and the sixers have been playing better then they were last year with iverson, in the long run the nuggets are gonna have one or two good years and then get fucked over with how much money he makes and how good he will be. the sixers in a couple years are gonna make a strong comeback. you cant hate the spurs, they play the game how its supposed to be played, DeFeNse, watch any team in the nba other the pheonix and san antonio and they play no defense thats why those two teams are so good every year, i prefer college because they play for the game not for money and they play it right. tony parker has to be the best most underrated player in the nbA by far. hes my favorite player and i bet your eyes are bleeding now.

and college teams dont play defense as good as the nba teams so i dont understand your point; well actually i do understand your point you just suck at making it. your point is they play the game the way it is supposed to be played, which is not for money. but this ruins your defense being the way it is supposed to be played theory

not even worth a real response. This is why Iverson doomed himself early on in his career, because most people have their head too far up their ass to ever get over the past. I live in the area he grew up and a lot of the people around here still think he's the same troublemaker he was in high school. You obviously know nothing about basketball because last year he was playing his best basketball EVER, and no I'm not exaggerating.

RED SOX WIN THE RED SOX WIN!

"Winning is winning," said Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia. "It doesn't matter how you do it."

For sure, this wasn't one of the more artistic wins of the season by the Red Sox. But once the calendar turns to August, style points no longer count for much. The 65-42 Sox, in snapping a two-game losing streak, maintained their seven-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East.
