all depends on how much you can take. like the guys above me said, when the temps get up in the 90s you can brave the cold water if you want. if seen whit (zbr) barebacking on a warm day in january before. but id say by late may/june the waters pretty comfortable.

also if youre more prone to fall you might wanna suit it cause youll be in the water more often.

all personal preference though. i cant stand the cold and get super cold real easy but i hate wetsuits so if its warm enough outside i try to brave the cold.

Yup, there used to be at least one warm weekend every winter month, it seemed like. This winter was a bitch though. I've barebacked every month of the year at one point or another. My air temp limit is 60, but it has to be sunny. If it's at least 60 and sunny w/ not too much wind, it doesn't matter how cold the water is unless you're planning to hang out in there. This pic is actually from the first time I ever went out bareback really early in the season, this was april 5th a few years back, in Nags Head. It looks nice and warm, but really it was sunny and 60 and *just* barely warm enough. Any gust of wind and I'd get goosebumps. I think the water was about 50 or so then, but I bet the water's colder right now since we've had such a cold winter.

I actually did give in and put on a suit twice in the last month to skim, hadn't done that in like 7 years... I went yesterday by the pier. Egh, it was alright. I'm not barebacking it yet. I can, but I like feelin comfortable out in the water. To me, board shorts and a top works fine. I'll wait when it hits the 80s again, so I can def. bareback it. I was at the pier for a good hour. Small scale liners, not as clean as I hoped for it to be. Overall, just all frontside. I left probably a quarter past 4. I wish I can get up today but I have church in the morning then work. If it clears up this week, Imma be there. Besides the pier, anyone else been up around the North End? Honestly, I used to be on 40th all the time and on 68th.

Thursday was pretty fun. I was out by Croatan and went down to the Pier later that afternoon. Tide kinda got pushed out by then, but it was pretty decent, catchin' a few liners. It was hot as shit that day too, got burnt..ahh,suckd.

Hey, appreciate it. I'm not hella great with CSS or HTML coding. So, the color scheme I have it on, is from a template. I can create graphics that would enhance the page a lil more,. but then I'd need someone to aid me in the CSS.HTML process. But for the mean time, thank you for the support. Wasup everybody. Listen, since summer semester is just right around the corner for me, I may not be able to get around to updating the blog everyday with new skim. So, I wanna encourage anyone, who has photos, to help me submit some footage. My page blog is a little picky on size dimensions, so if possible, scale your pictures down to a W: 500px. Flickr.com does a good job at sizing them and actually, sharpens your a picture a little bit since most of it is getting compressed. All I ask is that you provide the following info:

-Name by the person is was taken from.
-Date it was taken on.
-(Optional) Place it was taken at.

It just ensures that everyone receives the proper credit for their stuff. Sounds cool? A lot of you have been asking about rider profiles. I'm working on getting together with some of you guys on here. Getting a picture of you individually and a maybe a few action shots followed by it. Just normal questioner:

-Name
-D.O.B
-Where your from
-How long you've skimmed.
-What boards you own
-(optional) If your part of any team or whatnot.

It's a mouthful but I figured this would be a good way to get people involved and get some background check to kinda explore everyone's figure.

skim was pretty damn sick today. skimmed through high tide from like 12 to 3 and it was consistent waist high sets with some peaking a little higher. just clean wraps all day long. so fun. had to leave early though so i was bummed :(. now im off to shitty central florida for a week hopin its good when i get back i need some more skim like that.

i was out yesterday from 3 until 8 or so and once the tide came up some (low was around 3) it was pretty fun. small waves but they had some push to them. it was fun to try new stuff. got some nice bs airs wooo.

thurs and friday im gonna go out around 3 and stay as long as it stays good. ill let you know where i go but ive been out the past couple days and even close to low tide theres fun skim. it gets a lot smaller but still rideable. probably bring a camera out and take some hawt pix too.

Funny you mention that because I was about to hit the North End that morning but with the way the storm clouds looked, I was like nah IM good. But By around 2:30, it cleared up and got sunny and I just flaked out by the pier.
