depends on where you are skimmin....north end is free parking just don't block any driveways.

yea. You can park on the sides around the neighborhood just don't park in front of the driveways or mailbox w/e..I usually get to my spot early and park there and just camp out somewhere till the tide goes up. Because by mid afternoon, all the spaces are usually taken up.

There is a nice little parking spot for the pier but I don't wanna broadcast it over the interwebz. Ask around at the pier and they can guide you around. If you go to croatan its free to park before like 9 or 10.

I've been there many times over the last few years and I don't think I've ever had a day that was so dynamite that it justified me shaving time off my sessions to drive down there.

70th...I was skimming between 67th and 68th at dead low and it was fun little lines. Looked up the beach and saw someone slide out to to a waist high line and ride it for a block. Needless to say I grabbed my shit and went up there. It seems like that line works best right around low tide, hour or two before and after.

It was a good little sesh once I figured it out, not too much running, side slip out to a peak and then hold on!

i was at sandbridge hanging out with some friends and brought the skimboard along for shits and giggles. it actually turned out to not be that bad. pretty clean but it was low tide.
i had a nasty collision with a girl on a surfboard that left me with a really swollen foot. not sure if its broken but it definitely hurts to walk on. going to get it checked out tomorrow. but my board is fine so its all good

I had a skimmer lose control on his board and somehow, the board goes flying out from behind him and it flies at me, hitting the bottom of my foot. My bottom foot was swollen for a good 3 weeks before it started to go away. I've hyper extended my hand and taken a board rail above the eyebrow all in the same year..lol. be careful out there.

I have yet to try one yet but the basics is that it's thicker towards the nose and thinner towards the tail. There's wider planing surface towards the nose and with a fish, it's shorter. So in my case, it's going to turn me quicker and since the tail is thinner, it's going to give it a more twitchy feel. Main purpose is to ride mushy conditions..There's times when it doesn't break that great & instead of constantly using my Boom, I just need a board I can sub it in for.

Thursday night it was best right north of the metal construction structure, so like 62nd street. I got a couple good rides in. Not the best slope but good enough for some good times. I am getting ready now to head out again. I will give a report tonight but can not wait till tues.

got a couple nice 3-4 footers up a 64th this evening right before high tide. It was pounding the beach good and should help the lack of slope issue up there. Less chop and without the roll up wave between each swell it would have been priceless.

On the negative side, dang boogie boarding kids. I got in perfectly to the one wave (which was near impossible with the chop and my board) and instantly an head of a kid appears right in front of me so I bailed out the back and the board bashed my legs up. Next time the kid is getting the board.

How was it? Yesterday afternoon was so insanely good at that spot. I was surfing mostly but I kept switching back and forth. I was wishing I didn't have to leave at 6 but at that point I had logged a total of 4 hours on the beach (dawn patrol sesh too) and i was exhausted.

yeah I was gonna take walk down there and speed freak down that slope. lol. I'm still working the bugs out for the chest mount. It works, but it's different from it being mounted on a board where the shots more configured and stable. I get a lot jitter from the run and some of the shots of the waves being ridden are out frame a lil bit. So, I might have to resort to a boom pole. Which instead of riding with it mounted, I can be at a good distance and still get close up without getting in the way. As far as the chest mount, I still gotta conduct some experiments with it so It can look better on camera. Other wise, everrything just appears as wipe outs hahaa

Wasup guys, just today around 12, I had finished up skimming and had some of my belongings stolen. A LG phone a long with a Sony MP3 walkman was taken as well. I was down by the pier for a good 2-3 hours and I didn't realize my stuff was taken till after I got done. So, as a precaution, don't leave your stuff far from your view. At least, keep it around a lil more locally or else your stuff could get potentially stolen. I've heard of a lot of people's stuff being taken from around the area and it's starting to get old. So, yeah be sure ya'll look out for each other's stuff or don't take too much with ya. Peace

well see what happens is that if you leave your stuff around under the pier, sometimes cruisers come around and tell you to move your stuff. So I usually leave it just at the edge of pier poles so they don't bs. It's just wack that stuff like that happens. You just wanna enjoy the time being and yet, people gotta be malicious.

Wasup guys, just today around 12, I had finished up skimming and had some of my belongings stolen. A LG phone a long with a Sony MP3 walkman was taken as well. I was down by the pier for a good 2-3 hours and I didn't realize my stuff was taken till after I got done. So, as a precaution, don't leave your stuff far from your view. At least, keep it around a lil more locally or else your stuff could get potentially stolen. I've heard of a lot of people's stuff being taken from around the area and it's starting to get old. So, yeah be sure ya'll look out for each other's stuff or don't take too much with ya. Peace

North End was fire when the rain starting coming in around 2. When I first got there, it was breakin' far out and real mushy. Around high tide, it started to pick up and started hitten close. Good day to bring out the surf board. But it was skimmable around that time. The winds were killin it earlier but then around the time the rain came in, the winds calmed down a lot and it was fun from there.

I was out by 62nd but towards the other side of the pier, streets before 62nd, was pretty good. I was there till about 6 I wasn't that bad. Had fun with it. yeah it was spur of the moment. If you want to hit it up sometime let me know. It's best when the winds are light north, like today. There were "liners" coming in nonstop. Perfect little launchpads and some were good for some weak lines. I actually had one of my biggest frontside airs ever back onto the wave and rode up onto the beach. It was a four star day at Fort Relaxation. I got in at 9 after surfing this morning (56th) and I may actually leave here in a half hour to go surf again. A 5 hour day, haha.

the very north end of the seawall (well north of the Officer's Club) is where it's best, and then for the next 100 yards or so south from that in front of the seawall's decent. That whole beach right there from the seawall north to the first jetty, and then the last 100 yards or so of the sewall's usually the best. We call that beach "Gay Dude Beach", or GDB for short (long story).
