Brooks Saddles are the best and most comfortable (after you break in the leather) in the business.

Frame: IRO Limited Edition
Bars: Nitto bull horns
Stem: Salsa Cromato
Headset: IRD Pro
Wheel set: Velocity Deep V laced to Formula hubs
Cog: 17t IRO cog
Crank set: 49t FSA Carbon Fiber Pro
Pedals: MKS Royal track pedals and clips
Chain: Izumi
Saddle: Brooks Team Pro

Total build cost was $1,105 including all shipping. The frame was a group buy deal on the bike forums so we got it for a ridiculous discount, saved about $250 on it.

The flat black is sweet - I wonder if it's paint or powdercoat?

Dzan
07-10-2007, 03:31 PM
It's paint. Since it was a large group order we only had three choices, a lame sky blue, british racing green or flat black. The green was tempting but the stealth black look I much prefer.

A lot. The land speed record for a bike is over 50mph.

Its a mother freakin bike....are you 12 or 60?

25, whats your point

BMX bikes are slow and gay. Tricks are gimmicks. If you like BMX tricks, go skateboard its way better for tech tricks.

No postman in England does this. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=aMsotvad5nA&mode=related&search=)

And xstasy...whats it to you what some one spends on a bike. I spent 700 on mine...did i need disc brakes and 29" wheels...no, but they are freakin sweet.

You'd think a skimboarder of all people would know enough about "extreme" sports to have some respect for BMXing.

The BMX guys put themselves at a higher risk than skateboarders (contact with the equipment can be way more harmful, BMXers get way more air)

"If you like BMX tricks, go skateboard its way better for tech tricks"
How can you even say that? The two sports are so completely individual, that's like a telling a surfer trying technical moves to "go skimboard cause it's way better for tech tricks"

Xstasy, you're a fucking moron. Dzan clearly proved his point in regards to why his bike is better than most and you still fail to accept it. Over the years I've probably put about $2500-$3000 into my bike over the years and feel it was worth every penny. To me getting outside and being able to go hit big jumps and be outside with your friends all day and not have to worry about tacoing a wheel on a cased landing is worth the money.

Nice bike Dzan. Fixed gear?

So I guess you plan on jerking off for the rest of your life because having a girlfriend/wife is gonna cost u a lot more than $1000 in the long run?

Point is, if you love doing something, the amount of money you spend on it is always worth it.

I respect BMW bikers, every one I've met has been one of the most hardcore people I've ever met. There is definitely a degree of difficultly I can't even imagine. I still don't like the sport and I think the bikes are pretty gimped.

Plus the line "_____ are slow and gay" is a joke from car forums that carried over I thought people would get.

i think it's funny how much xstasy made it a point to say it was all an opinion. i think pimping cars is the biggest, dumbest waste of money in the world, and if anyone posted a photo of a car that they spent way too much money on, i'd tell them it was stupid as hell too.

it's an opinion, there's not much you can do but accept that it's his and, more than likely, the fact that he's not alone in it. i would bet money that a large percent of the world wouldn't understand spending that much money on a bike.

As I proved in an earlier post, I don't know dick about bikes, I didn't even know what a fixed gear was, but with that being said, I've been itching for awhile now to get a nice Mountain bike for TRAIL(Thanks DT, didn't even catch it) riding. I made a mistake of getting a department store bike and quickly got a reality check that when it comes to bikes, you definitely get what you pay for... I dont' see anything wrong with spending over a grand on a bike if its something you truely love doing...

I don't get why people are trying to normalize the cost of Dan's bike to skim gear. It's a bike, it has it's own value and cost basis. If it's a decision of one vs. the other you make your choice - or in his his case, skim gear was covered already so he has both and uses the bike +more+.
