Whats up. New to the forum and skimboarding and had a question. Im looking at buying a foam board and want to use it everyday if possible. Im mainly leaning toward waves and more deeper stuff over regular sand skimming. Ive seen alot of posts that show pictures of cracked noses and tails or people talking about the bottoms wearing out as fast as a Vic Foamie. So far ive been in between the Vic Ultra and the Zap Pro. Im mainly looking at them for price(under $300). I do like the Vics a bit better for the selection of colors but still want the board to be strong enough to learn on and take a beating in case i throw it down the wrong way or skim over anything rough in the water.
What is your recommendations on which would last longer and take a beating especially on the bottom and nose/tail area's?
Thanks.

not much experience with the pro. The biggest factor in how long a board lasts is how you treat it. If you are careful and fix minor dings and scratches before they become serious problems the board will last much longer.

if you are just learning you arnt going to break a board. i would go with the Pro. built like a tank and will last you a long time. there have been tons of other posts about this ultra v pro. just search the forum

Ive seen some people say they began with a Vic Ultra and it lasted but with so many Zaps around here in central FL i couldnt find any non biased opinions. Thanks for the help though.
Another question about the Vics is how heavy are they?

Thanks for all the help on the Vic vs Pro decision. Really fast replies!
The only other question is have is how heavy are the vic ultras. Ive read that the foamies were tanks and was hoping that the Ultras are different.
Thanks again.
