Skim USA and Alley-Oop present: The 2012 South Side Shoot Out
June 2-3, 2012
South Side of Indian River Inlet in the Delaware State Seashore Park

The South Side Shoot Out is a Pro/Am Skimboarding Competition. This event serves as stop number 4 on the Skim USA tour as well as the 2nd stop on the professional United Skim Tour. The amateur divisions will be open to riders of all ages and skill level. All competitors will receive a free competition T-shirt and complimentary lunches both days. A riders meeting is at 8:30 with competition beginning 9am both days.
Make sure to come check out the action as the worlds best riders compete in Delaware’s famous shore break. South Side is renowned for being one of the most powerful skim waves on the east coast and has a great chance for good swell with it’s early June competition date.

Zap skimboards Alley-Oop, Eelsnot & Vavala’s Beach Things will also be putting on an amateur best trick event the night before the Shoot Out, Friday the 1st at 5PM. The winner will receive a $100 Zap gift certificate to Alley-Oop! This is a great chance for amateur riders to showcase their skills in front of Zap Skimboard’s top professionals who will be judging this special amateur contest.

Hawaii Amateur Skimboard League-Yokohama Bay

The second contest of HASL’s 2012 season brought everyone out to the west side of Oahu. Yokohama Bay showed a little swell and occasional gusting winds but with the bright sunny skies, everyone made the best of the conditions and had a good time. The Next contest is getting scheduled for Saturday June 16^th at Big Beach in Maui. Also, for the first time ever, they are going to replace the Kauai contest in late August to Kaanapali Maui where the demand is much stronger.

East Coast Skimboards and Monkey Business present Summer 2012 Best Trick!

The idea behind the contest is to reward those that are pushing the level of progressive skimboarding. There will be $100 given to the best trick of the month, for the next three months. The best trick at the end of the three months will receive an additional $150 and a prize pack featuring a limited edition George Bryan Pro Model Monkey Business Skateboard.

The contest is open to all riders, all locations, and all terrain. The difficulty of the trick will be the main focus of the competition, not the quality of the wave or terrain. The rider must get on their board with a standard run, drop, and slide technique. The finalists for each month will be selected by viewer comments, with the winner being voted on by the public at the end of the month. To enter you only need to upload your clip to East Coast Skimboards facebook page http://www.facebook.com/EastCoastSkimboards.

Riders can enter as many times as they like but will be asked to show proof of the date of the trick when selected into the voting round. East Coast Skimboards has the right to use your clip for the voting process, promotional videos, etc. Interested viewers are recommended to like their facebook page to keep up with current entries and share their opinions. East Coast Skimboards is not responsible for any injuries, lost skimboards, internet trolls, dinged rails, or one night stands.

I’ve Seen Better Dayz By Travis Williams

Travis is not only talented behind the lens, he is also an up and coming Wedge shredder, who has been turning spectators heads left and right this season. Sam Stinnett Wins The Green Eggs and Am Pro Heat

Since social networking has almost completely destroyed the art of keeping a secret, yes, Wedge does work pretty consistently during the spring. So we’re gonna be posting videos of Wedge that have been circulating through Facebook recently; but, we want to make it clear that everyone is entitled to ride waves at wedge, no matter what kind of board they use for flotation. So keep that in mind if you ever find yourself at the end of the Balboa Peninsula, and remember to share the waves with your fellow water men.

This video was created by pro-youtuber Kevin King, who has been posting up sick videos left and right. The video highlights an epic day in mid March, with some of the biggest waves ever ridden on a skimboard.
