Adam Hayward premieres MOV
Adam Hayward has released a one of a kind site that offers quality skimboarding media. ThisisMov.com is an innovative site that allows skim fanatics to see high-quality footage of the world’s best riders from spots around the globe. But don’t take it from us, let Adam explain what this site is all about in this Q&A.
Q: What made you want to make the site?
A: My friend Woody Harris and I are neck deep in Skimboarding and we saw a void in the sport’s media outlets and really wanted to fill it. We get frustrated with other outlets because they don’t suit what we would like to provide, so we decided to create our own. MOV is for the things that are happening now, not 3 years ago, not even 3 weeks ago. We hope that will help push the sport into tomorrow.
Q: Who contributed/contributes to the site, or is it all original footage filmed by you?
A: Currently, the videos on the site are all by me, but I don’t intend to keep it that way for long. Woody is working on getting a camera to work with and we have also begun to search out future content that we will buy. We fully intend to pay for A+ quality edited video with an intent on showcasing other styles and places that we simply can’t cover on our own.
Q: When did you start the process of creating the site?
A: We’ve been kicking around the idea forever and have been generating content for the initial opening for a little over a year. The actual site was made just last month.
Q: Where are the videos filmed?
A: The videos that are being released right now are from all over the world. The best spots that we know of or think have the best waves, thats where we’ve been or where we’re going.
Q: What is next for the site and what can we look forward to in the future?
A: We’ll be releasing sections from the movie “theBOX” 1 by 1 over time to fill in gaps, so the last Laguna section and the Sununga sections are something that people have been asking for a lot. Particularly so they can have mobile versions of them, which MOV provides.
Beyond that we have 2 very exciting trips planned in the near future. The first of which is coming up very shortly next month and involves big right to left siders, Australia and Exile’s Austin Keen.
The second….well you’ll just have to wait and see
