After 15 years SkimOnline is doing some spring cleaning with version 4.0.

The change is more than just cosmetic. We are revamping everything about SkimOnline from the ground up. Daily news updates. Full time staff. Tight industry collaboration. All with one goal in mind, pushing skimboarding to the next level, again.

Woody Harris is joining SkimOnline as its full time content manager. His job will be to make sure everything newsworthy that is happening in skimboarding appears on this site in a timely fashion. Over the next month or so, he will also be porting all the archived content from SkimOnline onto the new site, no small task to say the least.

In order to fulfill our vision of living up to this site’s potential, we will need your help.

  • First off, we would love to hear your ideas. If there is something you would like to see implemented on the site, please let us know.  We appreciate your feedback.
  • For any photographers and videographers out there, we would love to feature your work!  Drop us a line to talk about how we can work together.
  • Partnerships and advertising:  We have developed affordable programs offering long term partnership with our site including permanent placement on the home page, as well as banner advertising.  Please contact us if you have an interest in working with us.
  • We need volunteers in different regions to help us with porting and updating our “skim spot” directory, especially outside of California and North Carolina.  If you want to help us out with your area, we want to let you help us!
  • We are looking for volunteers to take photos/video and do write-ups for skimboarding events.
  • If there is interest from qualified contributors, we will be rolling out a series of blogs.  Let us know if you are interested.
  • There will no doubt be some rough edges as we get this new site up to speed.  If you see typos, errors, or anything out of place, please let us know and we will endeavor to get the problem resolved right away.

I think that’s it for now.  We are excited about the new things happening here and hope that you are as well!

  5. Wow, I had look and make sure this was still the same website and not the old, “I just discovered the Internet and have my own website” page. The new design looks good, and already after spending only a few minutes here can tell that, alone on the front page, it has way more than the old site had to offer.

    Great job guys!
