Montara Beach
Very strong and powerful in the winter time. Cliffs on south side often block the wind. It’s a good high tide place and on occasion can get troughy ( yuck ). The best time of the year to skim is in the winter months by the south end and in the summer near the middle. Montara makes a good solid barrel and often can make liners coming from the south. If there would ever be a contest here, this is where it would be. Very easy to find. Take Highway 1 to Montara and it is right in front of the Chart House Restaurant. Parking is free!
